Supporting Long-Term Oral Health
General and preventative dentistry forms the foundation of care at Dentistry With Care. This service focuses on maintaining healthy teeth and gums through regular check-ups, early intervention, and personalised preventative treatment. Our approach is designed to support patients of all ages, from children to seniors, with gentle care delivered in a calm and reassuring environment. By prioritising prevention, we help patients reduce the risk of more complex dental concerns over time, while building familiarity and trust through consistent, ongoing care.
Every preventative appointment is delivered with clear communication and a strong emphasis on patient comfort. We take time to listen, explain findings honestly, and offer factual advice tailored to individual needs. Services such as routine examinations, professional cleaning, children’s dentistry, gum disease management, mouth guards, and support for concerns like tooth pain or bad breath are approached with patience and care. This considered process allows patients to feel informed, supported, and confident in maintaining their oral health.

Good habits start young
Start cleaning your children’s teeth as soon as you can. This will help get them used to having their teeth cleaned. You can use a soft baby toothbrush. Clean your children’s teeth before they go to bed as most of the damage to our teeth is done while we sleep
Make the dental visit fun for children: Treat your dental visit with your children as a fun adventure or excursion. Talk to them about what the dentist does as a job, what they will do when you visit the dental practice. Tell them the dentist is going to count their teeth, ask them to smile, open their mouth nice and wide. Tell them they may even get a chance to have their teeth polished to make sure they are all nice and shiny. Try to avoid any fear towards visiting the dentist. Make their experience positive and fun to help encourage them to look after their teeth and come back for further check-ups.
Gum Disease also known as Periodontal Disease, is the most common cause of tooth loss. It affects 60% of Australians and is caused by a build-up of plaque on our teeth.
Common signs include: Bleeding, Swollen gums, Bad breath, Loose teeth, Gaps appearing between your teeth, Teeth shifting or moving
Prevent gum disease by looking after your teeth daily. Ensure you brush your teeth twice daily and floss daily. Book a dental appointment every 6 months for a general check-up and clean to remove plaque. Removing plaque is very important to minimise the chances of infected gums. Early treatment helps to keep teeth healthy and save you from potentially losing a tooth (or more). Other ways to prevent gum disease is to eat a balanced diet, no sugary drinks and quit smoking.
